Synopsis
Eighteen-year-old academic prodigy Lin Qingyin is trapped in a life of domestic violence and school bullying. Determined to escape her circumstances through education, she throws herself into studying, hoping to leave everything behind. One day, while fleeing her father’s violent pursuit, she accidentally runs into Jiang Yan’s tattoo shop, “Wildfire.” Jiang Yan, a 20-year-old feared campus bully, is in fact a fallen young man from a once-privileged family, rebelling against his own troubled upbringing.
By a twist of fate, the two become desk mates. What begins as hostility and sharp confrontation gradually turns into understanding, as they see through each other’s defenses and recognize the resilience and vulnerability hidden within their broken souls. Together, they find redemption in one another, joining forces to confront their hardships. In the end, they become each other’s light in the chaos of youth, moving forward side by side toward their shared goal of “leaving this place,” as courage and love—like a wildfire—spread and grow throughout their journey of self-discovery.
