  • The City of Tshwane will conduct planned water maintenance in parts of Pretoria in early March.
  • Areas including Montana, Silver Lakes and Willow Acres may experience temporary water interruptions.
  • The city says the upgrades aim to improve infrastructure and ensure a more reliable water supply.

Residents in the City of Tshwane will be without water in the coming days as the city carries out maintenance and upgrade work on its water supply infrastructure.

In Montana, north of Pretoria, maintenance is scheduled for Wednesday, 04 March 2026.

The essential work is expected to last nine hours, from 08h00 until 17h00, and may result in water supply interruptions in Montana Extensions 110, 116, 131 and 174, Montana AH and surrounding areas, Jeugd Road between Veronica and Dr Swanepoel Roads, as well as Third Road and Klippan Road.

Planned maintenance will also take place at the Willow Acres water meter on Monday, 02 March 2026. In this instance, Rand Water will replace the water meter to improve efficiency and reliability of the water supply network.

The work is expected to take eight hours, from 18h00 on Monday until 02h00 on Tuesday. Silver Lakes and Willow Acres will be affected.

City spokesperson Lindela Mashigo said the maintenance project forms part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the city’s water infrastructure and ensure a more stable and sustainable supply.

“The city appreciates the cooperation of customers in allowing this critical work to proceed. Once completed, the upgrade will enhance monitoring accuracy and help prevent future disruptions,” he said.
