The Isitha: The Enemy actor, best known for his role as Poni-Poni, passed away on 22 February 2026 at the age of 39, the production company confirmed.

The production company behind the popular e.tv show Isitha: The Enemy has announced the passing of one of its cast members, Webster “Neo” Kuotane, who played the role of Poni-Poni.
According to a media statement released by Black Brain Pictures on Monday, 23 February 2026, Kuotane passed away on Sunday, 22 February. He was 39 years old.
The cause of death has not yet been announced.
“We are deeply saddened to confirm the passing of one of our cherished cast members, Webster “Neo” Kuotane, who brought the memorable character of Poni-Poni to life on Isitha: The Enemy,” the statement read.
“Through his portrayal of Poni-Poni, he delivered a performance that resonated strongly with audiences across South Africa. His talent, dedication, and ability to embody complex emotion made him a valued member of the Isitha: The Enemy family and a familiar face in homes nationwide.”
