CONGRESS expediting discussions on the anti-dynasty bill is a welcome development, as President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has expressed support for the measure, a Palace official said.
“Maganda pong senyales iyan kung kanila po itong minamadali (ang discussion sa Anti-Dynasty Bill) dahil iyan din po ang nais ng Pangulo,” Presidential Communications Office (PCO) Undersecretary and Palace Press Officer Claire Castro said during a press briefing.
Castro made the statement when asked whether President Marcos would mention the Anti-Dynasty Bill in his upcoming State of the Nation Address (SONA), noting that Congress is currently expediting its passage.
She added that during the last meeting of the Legislative-Executive Development Advisory Council (LEDAC) with the President, the council reported that public consultations on the bill are already underway.
The Palace official also urged the public to wait for further developments and for Congress to submit the finalized bill to the Chief Executive for review.
“So, hintayin po natin kung gaano po magiging kabilis ang pagtatrabaho po ng ating Kongreso at para maisumite nila ang binalangkas na bill para sa Pangulo at para maaral po ito,” Castro said. PCO
