- Artist Shebeshxt faces nine counts following an October 2025 road-rage shooting that left two people seriously injured.
- The Polokwane Magistrate’s Court has postponed the matter until 27 March to transfer the trial to a regional venue.
- Following failed bail appeals and reports of prison contraband, the musician remains in custody ahead of his next appearance.
The 30-year-old Lekompo musician, Lehlogonolo Katlego Chauke famously known as Shebeshxt made a brief appearance at the Polokwane Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday.
The proceedings resulted in a further postponement, with the case scheduled to resume on 27 March to facilitate its transfer to a regional court for the setting of a trial date.
Chauke is currently facing nine serious charges linked to a violent road-rage confrontation in October 2025.
Allegations suggest the artist opened fire on another vehicle, leaving two victims with severe injuries.
One individual suffered a significant jaw wound, while another remains in intensive care following the shooting.
The artist’s legal battles have seen repeated setbacks regarding his detention.
His initial bail application was rejected in December 2025, and a subsequent appeal in January 2026 was also unsuccessful.
These legal hurdles have been compounded by recent reports alleging that contraband was discovered within his prison cell.
