NANGUNA si Speaker Faustino “Bojie” Dy III sa pagbibigay-pugay sa namayapang dating Speaker Jose de Venecia Jr. sa Kongreso noong Lunes.
Apat na dating speakers ang nagtipon sa event para kilalanin ang ambag ng dating speakers.
“We gather as one House to honor a life that shaped this institution and influenced the course of our democracy,” ayon kay Speaker Dy, na tinawag ang namayapa na “Tito Joe.”
Speaker si de Venecia noong 9th, 10th, 12th, 13th at 14th Congress.
“During his years as presiding officer of this House, Tito Joe showed us what it means to wield the gavel with purpose. Limang ulit siyang nahalal bilang Speaker—isang patunay ng kakayahan at kagalingan na mahirap tumbasan.
Nagkaroon po kami ng mga magkakaibang opinyon sa iba’t ibang usapin, subalit nanatili pa rin ang paggalang sa isa’t isa,” he said.
Malinaw po na ang sukatan ng kanyang pamumuno ay kung paano niya pinangangalagaan ang kanyang tungkulin sa ating bayan,” sabi ni Speaker Dy.
Sinabi pa ng kasalukuyang Speaker ang mga nagawa ni de Venecia “nag-set ng standard of dignity in conduct, discipline in stewardship, and fidelity to the nation above all else.”
“De Venecia was positioning the chamber as an anchor in challenging times—steady when the country needed balance.
Ang kanyang paraan ay simple ngunit mabisa: makinig, magpaliwanag, at magbuklod. He welcomed different perspectives in the room and treated disagreement as an opportunity for clarity,” paliwanag ni Speaker Dy
“To the De Venecia family, thank you for sharing the life of Tito Joe with our kababayan. Thank you for the sacrifices unseen by the public eye.
Thank you for standing beside him as he carried the burdens of leadership,” ayon kay Dy.
