Last weekend, Sizwe was surprised to discover that a colleague, Phumlani, had saved his father’s number as “Dad” on his phone.

For Sizwe, this was unexpected. He has always saved his own father as “Baba” and has never referred to him as “Dad”.

Mpho Maboi, however, sees nothing unusual about it. She shared that she grew up calling her father “Dad”, and her siblings did the same.

Sizwe’s argument is that there is nothing particularly endearing about the word “Dad”.

He then invited the Kaya audience to share their thoughts on the matter, and to reveal how they have their parents saved on their phones.
