PNP-IG nabs PH’s most wanted

EIGHT of the country’s most wanted persons are in jail after being arrested as a result of information provided by agents of the Philippine National Police Intelligence Group (PNP-IG), the Journal Group learned yesterday.

“We have accounted for eight more fugitives from the law amid the orders given to us by PNP chief, General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. and PNP Director for Intelligence, Major Gen. Wilson Joseph F. Lopez to help fully account for all of the country’s wanted persons including Enemies of the State,” said PNP-IG director, Brigadier Gen. David N. Poklay.

The official said one of the suspects identified as 64-year old Bonifacio Villafuente alias ‘Butsok’ is a known member of the New People’s Army (NPA).

The suspect was tracked down in his residence in Bgy. Miabas in Palanas, Masbate by security troops following an ‘intelligence packet’ developed by the Regional Intelligence Unit 5.

Brig. Gen. Poklay said the suspect was arrested on the strength of a non-bailable warrant of arrest for murder issued by the Masbate City Regional Trial Court Branch 47 on October 22, 2025.

A record check showed that the accused is a full-time member of the CPP/NPA Bicol Regional Party Committee’s Platoon 3 operating in the municipalities of Bula, Balatan and Bato in Camarines Sur.

The 2nd identified as Ejoy Mabandos,38, another identified member of the CPP/NPA Northeastern Mindanao Regional Party Committee operating in the provinces of Surigao del Norte and Agusan del Sur was arrested by PNP operatives following an intelligence packet developed by the RIU13.

The suspect who is the subject of a warrant for multiple attempted murder issued by the Butuan City RTC Branch 33 on July 22, 2019 was arrested in Bgy. Del Pilar in Cabadbaran City, Agusan del Norte.

RIU 13 officers also provided accurate information that led to the capture of two co-accused of Mabandos identified as Junrey Gaan alias ‘Baloy/Bagwis’ and Marry Ann Gomez,24, following separate manhunt operations in Bgy. Anticala in Butuan City.

The 5th identified as Marvin Turla,37, the subject of a warrant of arrest for two counts of robbery with intimidation against person issued by the Navotas City RTC Branch 286 last December 2 was arrested in Bgy. Longos in Malabon City following information provided by the RIU National Capital Region.

Brig. Gen. Poklay described the suspect as the leader of an organized crime group engaged in illegal drug and robbery-holdup activities in Navotas City and other parts of Camanava district prior to his capture.

The 6th suspect identified as Rose Ann Barrera,25, was arrested in Bgy. Poblacion, Zone 2 in Del Gallego, Camarines Sur as a result of an ‘intelligence packet’ provided by the RIU 14.

The PNP-IG director said Barrera is the no. 1 Regional Most Wanted Persons in Cordillera region where the Baguio City RTC Branch 9 ordered her arrest for violation of Republic Act 10175 or the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012 last January 8.

The accused is particularly wanted for violation of the Access Devices Regulations Act of 1998 and the Anti-Financial Account Scamming Act.

The 7th identified as Ibrahim Ali alias’ Boli’ was captured in his hiding place in Bgy. Pindolunan in Ganassi, Lanao del Sur last Tuesday following an ‘intelligence packet’ developed by the RIU15 of the PNP-IG.

The 42-year old suspect is the subject of warrants for two counts of murder issued by the General Santos City RTC Branch 60 on May 24, 201; a non-bailable warrant for murder issued by the General Santos City RTC Branch 23 on June 1, 2021; another warrant for murder issued by the General Santos City RTC Branch 55 on January 13, 2023; and 2 warrants of arrest for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 issued by the General Santos City RTC Branch 37 on November 21 last year with a total of P240,000 recommended bail.

The suspect has been tagged as one of the National Most Wanted Persons under a DILG Memorandum Circular with a P425,000 reward offered on his head.

The 8th identified as Dimas Domayan, a 29-year-old member of the notorious Wahingon Criminal Gang engaged in robbery-holdup and carnapping activities in Calbayog City, Samar was arrested as a result of an ‘intelligence packet’ developed by the RIU8/.

The suspect was caught in his hiding place in Bgy. Salvacion in Calbayog Cit last February 8. He was placed under arrest on the basis of 2 non-bailable warrants for murder issued by the Calbayog City RTC Branch 32 on March 22, 2021 and September 3, 2021 respectively; and two other warrants for violation of RA 10591 issued by the Calbayog City RTC Branch 32 respectively on December 14, 2021 and March 28, 2022 with bail recommended at P220,000.
